Brochures
A folded brochure is read in a set order: the front panel, then the inside spread as it opens, then the back. We plan the content to match that order, so the first panel gives one reason to open it and the inside answers the questions that reason raises. Tri-folds, bi-folds and gate folds each change which panel is seen when, so the fold is chosen before the layout.
Annual and impact reports
A report has to work for two readers: the one who flips through in a minute and the one who reads every page. We give the skimmer large section openers, short summaries and clear charts, and give the careful reader a consistent text layout, page numbers and a contents page that matches. Numbers are shown as charts or callouts where that makes them easier to read, using the figures you supply.
Charts and figures
We redraw charts in the report's style from your data or a spreadsheet, so they look like part of the document. Send the source numbers, not only screenshots, and tell us which comparison matters most. We don't change or estimate figures; anything unclear goes back to you as a question.
Print details
Page count for saddle-stitched booklets has to be a multiple of four. Perfect-bound reports need a spine. Paper choice changes how colors print. We build files to your printer's specs and flag anything that affects cost before you approve the layout.
Questions
Can you make a digital version too?
Yes. We export a screen PDF alongside the print file, and on request a version with tagged headings for easier reading on screens.
Our text isn't final. Can we start?
Yes. We can design the system with draft text and drop in the final copy later. Large text changes after layout may add a revision round.
